Call the Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the Board of Review to obtain an "Objection to Real Property Assessment" form.
Open Books will now be conducted via phone, email or in person as needed per the 2026 Wisconsin Property Assessment Manual . This is a maintenance assessment in which a revaluation or reassessment is not being performed.
Notice of public hearing and budget summary for the town of sumner:
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Sumner, Jefferson County, Wisconsin will hold a public hearing on the town's proposed 2026 budget on Thursday November 20, 2025, at 6:00 pm, at the Sumner Town Hall, N1525 Church Street, Edgerton, WI 53534.
Immediately following the public hearing, a special town elector meeting will be held to approve the 2025 total town tax levy to be collected in 2026.
The proposed budget in detail is available at the clerk's office by appointment

Sumner Property Revaluation Completed
The revaluation of all properties in the Town of Sumner has been completed for 2025.
Below is the Official Notice you will receive by mail regarding your new property assessment, as required by law.
This updated value represents an estimate of your property’s full (100%) market value as of January 1, 2025.
Please note: It is not yet possible to determine what impact, if any, these new assessments will have on your 2025 property tax bill. Final tax rates will be determined later this year during the budget process for the Schools, State, County, and Town.
