Current Parks Committee

The Town of Sumner Parks Committee is seeking tax deductible donations to assist with projects within the Park system. The town currently has three parks,

  • Busseyville Park located in Busseyville.

  • East Lake Park located at the end of East Lake Drive.

  • Carcajou Preservation Park located at the corner of Carcajou Rd. & White Crow Rd.

Our most recently acquired Carcajou Park was first planted in June 2011 with native grasses. The Ho-chunk Nation was instrumental in the planting of grasses by providing the seed at a very small cost to the Town. However, the initial and continued maintenance (weed control, planting, mowing, burning and harvesting) for a bountiful prairie is costly and volunteer intensive. The Parks Committee has planned visions to beautify the prairie by adding paths, signage, more varieties of flowers, bird houses and perhaps a kiosk. The harvested prairie seeds will provide some income to the Parks and help sustain some of the costs and upkeep throughout the years.A

If you have any questions, or would like to become a parks member please contact any of the Park Members above for more information. Thank you in advance for your contribution and support to the future of the Town of Sumner Parks.

Donations should be made payable by check or money order to the Town of Sumner with "Parks Donation" written into the memo section.
